Our principal role is to provide opportunities for the Manitoba public to play a part in ensuring the protection of our environment. 
How It Happens
We provide a forum at which the public can participate in environmental assessment and decision-making, and in offering advice and recommendations to the government.

On December 5, 2011, the Minister of Conservation requested that the Clean Environment Commission hold a public hearing on Manitoba Hydro's proposed Bipole III transmission line project.

On July 5, 2011, the Minister of Conservation at the request of the Minister of Water Stewardship, has asked the Clean Environment Commission to conduct a review regarding the licensing of regulation of Lake Winnipeg under The Water Power Act.
